Rigged for Agility
Overview
One well-known company in the Oil and Gas sector established a 24/7 Kanban support system for its upstream processes, aiding in the maintenance of offshore drilling rigs worldwide. This included scheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and shutdowns across four different locations. However, they encountered challenges such as long wait times, reactive routines, repetitive tasks, and siloed work practices. Additionally, there was limited emphasis on using past experiences to achieve permanent solutions. In our discussion, we will explore the agile implementation strategy, the issues faced, and the tools and processes used during this transition.
