Bio
Swami Bodhaswarupanandaji Maharaj, the Adhyaksha of Ramakrishna Math, Halasuru, Bengaluru is a senior monk of the Ramakrishna Order. Before taking to monastic life, he completed his graduation in Engineering from the National Institute of Engineering, Mysore. He worked there as a teaching faculty and later at Malnad College of Engineering, Hassan. He joined the Ramakrishna order of monks at Belur Math in the year 1990 and served there in Relief, Rehabilitation and transport department for 17 years. During this time from 1990-1992, he was sent to Andhra Pradesh to assist in the construction of four cyclone shelters and a Ramalayam.
In addition to that he was in charge of the pre-probationers’ training Centre for the newly joined Brahmacharins at Belur Math for some time. He used to take classes for them on monastic life, and on life and teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda.
He served under Revered Swami Jagadatmanandaji Maharaj, Head of Ramakrishna Saradashrama Ponnampet Centre in building Universal Temple of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna and later served as Adhyaksha of that Centre from 2010 to 2021 and as Adhyaksha of Ramakrishna Math, Madihalli, Tumakuru Dist from 2021 to 2023.
During the 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Swami Vivekananda, Swamiji was deeply involved in many welfare activities for the poor and downtrodden in the district of Kadagu. He conducted Relief and Rehabilitation work in Kodagu for affected people due to massive landslide and floods during 2018 & 2019. He served the people by conducting Covid Relief work in the district of Kodagu.
Presently the Swamiji is serving as Adhyaksha of Ramakrishna Math, Halasuru, Bengaluru since April 2023. Swamiji takes spiritual classes at the Ashrama for the public and also delivers discourses outside on invitation. He also conducts Value Education and Personality Development Classes for students, teachers, parents and professionals.
